Sometimes I just which that people would simply answer the questions rather than gettting well, religious about the OS. If a person says he wants to use X the answer could be, here is an answer but there are some security risks, people could remain silent if there is no answer or say Well SME is not designed for X you could try Centos.  And when the new version of Centos doesnt work someone could simply say, we are unaware of anyone updateing with this version. But I get agrivated by answers like Why do you want to do this? Its a stupid idea or such.  or its a server not a workstation.  We are all adults, I dont always understand why people have to get emotional, and cant just answer the simple questions if they have any answers. I think we are all users here who want to help one another.

The reality is that there are more and more interfaces for SME because people have found that the current interface does not meet the needs of all users. And some want things a little more clearly outlined and easier to use. If servers didnt have Gui's then neither would SME.

Im just saying that people can give answers and can add ademdums like. I would not recomend this for this reason etc. But give the end users some ability to make up their own mind.

Just my thoughts anyway.

Regards

Stay calm, think of the blood pressure, after all there are more important things in life than server operating systems

I posted links to suggested ways of implementing X on sme.
Go for it if you want, you are wasting time wingeing here.

Hang on steve - your question was dealt with in a simple manner - no we don`t have X - here are a few alternatives.

Someone else jumped in and started to try and sell the idea of an unneeded feature. That changed the direction thread.

Stop being so precious.
