Well the best way for us to help you would be if you give us more data. I don't even know what doesn't work.

Tell us:
- What doesn't work
- What happens when you try to install
- What kind o computer you have (disk, ram, cpu, NIS's)
"It should just work" if it doesn't report it. Thanks!

When I am installing SME, once I have got past the input password screen, it doesnt tell me that I have multiple nics and wont let me set up a server-gateway enviroment.
It has an onboard HP nic, and a Netgeat PCI nic.
Specs are 512mb, p4 80gb ide.

The answer is simple. One of the nics don't work. Find out which nic works and then swap the unsuported nic for one that is suported.

You should know which nic works when you came to the nic driver part of the setup. The one that is listed works, and the one that has unknown driver is unsuported. Change that one.
