Hi,

No there is not so a full backup everynight it is, bit annoying but its pretty good.

Did you do basic reconfiguration before attempting the first restore ?

No I didn't I installed the dar contrib and tired a restore but it was saying the the pc (apc001) was not registered on the domain.

I then set the basics up but still nothing because i think it wanted to to readd the pc to the domain. So when I then run the sme restore from desktop util it sorted everything out for me.

Anyway everything is working ok now so quite happy with it.

Just wondering if i run the backup every night will it constantly overwrite the previous data or will it just keep makin new files without removin the old ones?

cheers

Modify the dar job so that Expiry is not zero. Zero says 'overwrite each time' but if you enter a positive number here it is supposed to keep backups for n+1 days.

df -h

[root@hostname ~]# df -h
Filesystem            Size  Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/mapper/main-root
                       39G  2.0G   35G   6% /
/dev/md1               99M   13M   82M  14% /boot
none                  125M     0  125M   0% /dev/shm

Forgive my ignorance please
Why is the size 39G ?
How do I tell if the partition has been expanded all the way properly ?

I have 2)60G drives should it not be somewhere in the 57G range or so ?

Thanks

Hi,

If i want to put the backups onto a USB device how do I go about it?

I have plugged in the USB so what do I put the location as in the dar admin panel and do I need to mount it at all?

Thanks
