Vlan Problem
« on: February 22, 2007, 04:01:46 PM »
I have my server setup as a server-gateway. eth0 is my external card and ping external addresses which is great! However my internal network card for some reason will not ping any address ony my local network. The network cards are also indentical. I have had problem with this before cant remeber how it was sorted. I have 400 computers and each room is on a different vlan. My main vlan is 10.10.1.* other versions of linux dont seem to have a problem and neither do windows clients. The port itself does work it just cnat talk to the network. If anybody has any idea please help!

SME server doesn't include any support for vlans. If you're using vlans then you'll need to configure your switch to tag on ingress and untag on egress on the server port. Or you'll need to customise the server to use a vlan.

If you don't understand what I've written, consult an expert.
