Point hostnames to an ibay
« on: February 24, 2002, 10:19:40 PM »
I would like to point mp3.thinkidentical.com to the ibay that all my MP3's are stored on. I don't see a 'directory' or 'location' option in the Hostnames and addresses menu when I create a new host name and I looked through templates for httpd. I can't find a howto for redirecting host names. Could someone give me a clue please?

Thanks,
David Edwards

Create it as a virtual domain and point it to your ibay.

Thanks for the quick reply and the great, simple solution. I was thinking modify a temlplate for httpd.conf for VirtualHosts, and changing the document root, but I couldn't find it. Anyhow, this is what I did:

I use DTDNS for DNS, so I went to thier site added mp3. to my host table.

Then I created mp3.mydomainname.com as a virtual host, and pointed it's content to my MP3 I-Bay.

And that was it. Very simple.

Thanks a lot,
