Topic: any problem replace syslog by syslog-ng

I´d like to use SME7 to receive logs from my WRT54g (Linksys AccessPoint) and would like to create a separate file for these logs entries.
So I think I should to use syslog-ng.

I was reading and install it´s easy... but would like to ask just before try:

do I may break anything doing this?

No, never really try to install.
I´ll get my test machine (and use VMWare server) this week and will try to install and see what happens.
I´ll let you know about any progress ASAP
