No, not now. SME 7.0 and 7.1 use RHEL 4 (RedHadEnterpriseLinux, used through CentOS 4), which use 2.6.9 kernel. Even RHEL 5, at beta stage now, may use 2.6.18 kernel so integration of RHEL/CentOs 5 in SME will not be enough.

Ok. Thanks. It`s not a big problem, but I just have to do som ekstra steps before updating when there`s a new kernel. Will the kernel always change as often as now in the future?

It depends on RedHat. But I'm afraid yes.

If I exclude kernel updates. Will that make my system unreliable?

Hard to say. The best way is to check for each new kernel what the modifications are and if they are critical when using SME. Example: a bug allows privilege escalation for simple user using command line. No command line for users in SME => no problem. From a practical point of view, it is not possible to do such check at each kernel update. So if you do not update your kernel each time, your system may be reliable and you may hope that there is now security break.

Ahma, kernel for SME 6.0 was not updated during all the life of 6.0 despite update from upstream. And I did not heard about SME 6.0 compromising for this.

Kernel updates will be excluded when you get 7.1.1 installed.  After that, all kernel updates will be done through smeupdates.

check out the smedev repo.  I've built kmods for arcmsr (the driver for Areca cards).  You will need to install the modules for the kernel you have installed and then regenerate the initrd files.
