Prob w/ identical server names
« on: March 09, 2007, 10:11:00 PM »
We have a user that can receive mail with the smeserver but he cannot send. His ISP is telling him that this is the case when the incoming and outgoing server names are identical .. Is this actually true and if so is their a way that these names can be made different.
All users have Outlook 2003.
The other 11 users do not have any problems.
We are running ver 7.1.2

You state you have 11 users working. Something is different with the user that is broken. What is it? Up to you to determine. Check and match your Outlook config settings against one of the users that is working. In Outlook enable Read and Delivery receipts. Review the qpsmtpd current log file. Bypass Outlook and test the user account via webmail.

That user that is broke has all the same settings as the users that work.
That users ISP is the problem in that they require unique pop and smtp server names.
