Hi,

I have a mitel e-smith server.  I have no idea what version it is but I can safely assume it is not 7.x.  I believe it was used as a router and maybe a server at one time.  We do not need the use of the IBM eserver 300x series model number 8672 82x.  I don't have a login name or password either.  I would greatly appreciate your thoughts on how to check what is being stored on the hardrive if anything and what options do I have with respect to the hardware and software.  i.e. can I sell it on ebay or is it obsolete.

In the SME variants, if you login with username admin you will see a menu-driven interface.

The SME software is open source, and so has no value.  You would establish an E-Bay value based on the hardware alone, and you would remove your existing data before sale using any data scrubber you can find.

If you need the data from the drive, you could try booting the system with a Mepis disk, or booting it from the 7.1.1 install disk in "recover" mode.

True, but I'm assuming that the OP doesn't have SME, he has an unknown Mitel box that he needs help to log in to...
