Topic: Grant ftp-access in ibays/website

im hosting a few websites for friends and family.
everytime they want to do a major change i need to fix it for them

is it possible to grant ftp-access ONLY to their own "ibays"

scenario:

grant ftp user1 only to  website1/ibay1  

grant ftp user2 only to  website2/ibay2

Using groups is always a good idea, this will save you from having to modify everything over and over again and keeps you well organised. As far as I remeber this should work, but I believe you will have to enable ftp access in the server manager Remote Access type and connect using secure ftp, the equivalent of https but for ftp. Using secure ftp prevents passwords being sent over the net in plaintext.

You might want to have a look at the Dungog User Remote Access add-on here:

It allows you to specify exactly what a remote ftp user can access and has other useful remote access functions.

It would be wise for you to teach them to use sftp.

sftp is good.

when user1 access ftp1 he can "see" ftp2 but no acces ofcourse.

is it possible to hide ftp2 for user1?

1 more thing,

i want user1 to have in his ftproot have both ibay/website and home-direktory and mail-direktory.

i think there is a mount command for my last request?

I also use the Dungog contrib. I've been in the same situation and it has been a bit of a life saver for me in terms of time.
