Im looking to do my next upgrade from 6.1 to 7.1 and have a couple of hardware questions. I did use the search so please dont respond with use the search as some of my questions are looking for an opinion based on other peoples experience .
I plan to do some testing before the upgrade but I need to buy drives and want to know is it really worth it going from ide to sata drives ?
The system is for personal use (email,some ftp,webserver,network services, file storage)and will initially be a single drive install but I want to eventually have a raid setup. Can a 2nd drive be added at anytime after the initial install or will it require a new install ?
For what ever reason all I seem to see people running are intel processors and that is all I have run so far as I have used pre-manufactored systems so far. I intend to use an Amd xp1800 then I intend to upgrade the processor in a few months. Should I expect any problems or issues using an amd cpu ?
I am just concerned since I dont see many people using them.
