Hi
I've been considering using Affa at one of my client's sites to automatically backup the 5 Windows PC's on their LAN to the sme server. Currently they have a shared folder on the server which they use for everything, but some stuff (Windows address book, Outlook PST files, favourites, etc) are left on the PC's.
From the Wiki page,
http://wiki.contribs.org/Backup_Windows_Computers_Using_Affa I see the following:
Affa does not backup windows ACL (Access Control List) information. You will need to correct your windows ACLs after doing any restore from affa!
So, my question now is, how do I backup a Windows PC and not have problems with the ACL's? I've had cases before where I couldn't restore backups because it was "owned by the previous user", in a case where the HDD failed / computer got struck by lighning, and I had to reinstall. Currently all users login to their PC's as an administrator (don't worry, security isn't a big concern, and they don't install stuff themselves), so I don't think the ACL's will be a problem, but I don't want to implement a backup system, which may not work when it's needed.
