Hi all.
I figure I'll ask this here, since i'm using e-smith for my server.
I have a question about users on my e-smith server, and users on my linux clients.
With windows, i don't need to add every user to the client machine in order to log on. it checks the server (e-smith or nt) for valid usernames and passwords.
is there a way to do that with linux clients? well, i'm sure there is, I just dont know how. I'd like to not have to enter every user in each machine.
I have the latest Mitel5.1.? server, and i'm using mandrake8.1 and win98.
I have all my users entered on my mitel box, and have setup 3 on each linux box.
during install, mandrake I want to use local files, LDAP or NIS for passwords.
Can someone tell me set this up, or at least point me towards a good resource/book that would help a newbie?
I'm currently working my way thru Samba Unleashed and The Linux Network.
thanks,
john
