I am more after the ability for a backup to continue to completion before NUT shuts down the server, as my UPS has quite some capacity, rather than just forcing a shutdown no matter what the server is doing.
Does NUT wait until low battery before shutting down SME (can this be configured?) as I notice that my UPS uses upscode2 and using NUT to query the unit I notice that I can see the load, expected run time, etc and given that the backup logs contain how long a backup took last time, perhaps a script could be written to control when the shutdown can occur?
I currently have the UPS on a debian system that I am experimenting on until I better understand the UPS by hand configuring NUT and participating in the NUT forums...
Cheers Douglas.
It stricks me that NUT is either off or on. It's it's one it is on... it will do it's job.
Are you saying that you have power failures during backups?
If my UPS (a Compaq T2400h) signals a power failure to NUT
If so... fix the power or the UPS.... or accept that you just aren't going to get a good backup that night. This is a strange problem.
