IP Fowarding Problems
« on: March 05, 2002, 04:06:34 PM »
I am a newbie to linux, and work from home. I have an internal Windows 2000 Server network and e-smith working as my home network gateway.

I have installed the ip forwarding module called 'dmc-mitel-portforwarding-0.0.1-4.noarch.rpm'.

I am trying to get all port 80 requests on my gateway to point to my iis running on my internal network. With no success. If i setup this up my assigned external ip address just goes nowhere, if i remove it it goes back to my e-smith server primary website....

Can anyone help!

I recall trying to portforward port 110 and 25 from SME to an internal exchange server without success.  I have no trouble forwarding TCP print port 515 from the same server.  Maybe you have to kill any services listening on port 80 (apache) on the SME box for it to work??????????

Good luck.

Ryan, i have tried this but still no joy.

All i am trying to do is to give outside access to a few ASP driven projects on my internal network!!!

I have tried using different port numbers, but nothing seems to work.

Any other ideas i can try or anywhere i can find information.

cheers

hey, i am trying to get port fowarding to work, but cant find dmc-mitel-portforwarding-0.0.1-4.noarch.rpm anywhere - its no long on the mitel website it would seem.

does anyone know another location to download from, or another way to do port forwarding on an e-smith box??

Thanks

Pete
