Guys, this is urgent.


Shiny new install of 7.1 for new client, production server...

in webmail, can send emails to local and external emails

from outlook, checking qpsmtpd current log, emails get to the server but then it gets told invalid recipient when sending to external adress...  please help

This is Linux, which by default is secure...  Please remember in future to activate SSL on port 465 for SMTP connection over WAN otherwise it will not work...

Can you please be more specific with how you exactly fix this problem?  I am currently having the same problem and your response isn't well formed.  I would appreciate it very much.

I appreciate the effort putting into resolving this issue.  Windows Mail is confusing in this area because if you put a check next to secure IMAP, it automatically changes the port, but if you put a check next to secure SMTP, it does not.  I assumed that the port remained the same and only the protocal was tweaked.  It wasn't until I searched and found this thread that I realized this was not the case.  I changed the secure SMTP port to 465 and it works flawlessly now.

thallanor this seems to be the issue for most mail clients. Some clients change ports when you enable ssl and some clients don't change any ports or only a selected few. I tend to watch the port settings and see if they change.

I will be paying more attention in the future!  I didn't know what the ports were and assumed that the mail client would handle it for me.  I should have known better.
