Login not going to config screen
« on: May 10, 2007, 07:34:17 AM »
Today I loged in as normal on the local machine
login
password
then normaly the gui would show up
However now it shows a quick sme sever xxx
and bounces back to the login screen
If I log in as root xxx password xxx
then it drops to the normal shell
any ideas ?

Don't know if I understand you correct. But when logging in as root it's normal you get the "normal shell".
Do you log in with admin and the root password?

Did you try to log in as root and then enter console ?

I think that he wants to say that the server-manager pannel doesn't work.
If so... did you try another browser?
"It should just work" if it doesn't report it. Thanks!

Local Logon Server Panel

quote
"If you set the server console mode to "login", you will be given a login prompt. After you enter the user name "admin" and your system password, you will see the server console screen above. "

Now it does this

If you set the server console mode to "login", you will be given a login prompt. After you enter the user name "admin" and your system password, the SME Server xxx shows up then system drops to
the login prompt again

No, I tried to log in as a user with admin rights
Instead of droping to a shell, or starting the console
as it would using admin / pw, it jumps back to the login
prompt. It used to give me a shell, if I loged in as a user
it used to give me the admin console if I loged in as admin
