Hi all,
Let me start by apologising for being a Linux and SME Server newbie. With that clear I hope the next question does seem too supid, but...
I trying to set up a home server for file sharing, print serving and torrent downloading. I have a older celeron 2 GHz box that I have cleaned the HD, so it has just a NTFS format and no boot data. I expected to be able to start the machine with the CD created from ISO image and have it boot from the cd and commence the install. It's not doing this, instead I get a boot error and can even type the "smei586" command I found in the "readme.txt". The bios is set to boot from Floppy, then CD, then HD and this works fine if I use other file server apps like FREENAS.
Do I need to install "CENTOS" before SMEServer?, or perhaps SME7.0 and then upgrade to 7.1? I can't find any suggestion of this in the help wiki....or have I missed something?
