Voting for bugs... does it have any influence?

Hi,

Does someone know if the devs take voting for bugs/NFR into account when prioritizing them?

They take donations (hint:$$$).
"It should just work" if it doesn't report it. Thanks!

Besides that, what's of course good/needed in general ;) .... but i've not yet seen a clear statement that the implementation of a feature can be influenced. Most open-source community driven projects can be influenced somehow, be it paid for (bounty) or not.

I don't want to start a riot (again) and i know it is a matter of the dev's having the time/resources, i could do it myself if i have the skils... if i don't have the skils i could go and learn it myself if i had the time (i don't really have both), etc. etc.

So just plain and simple can i influence a feature if i don't have time or skil?! Be it by voting for a bug, be it by putting up a bounty.... what is the policy on this matter?

As i have said. Put some money into the game and things will start moving. I don't think that you can vote for a NFR but you can sponsor one (put up some bounty).

I think this issue has a bit of history and goes a bit further back than you are overlooking here. I would like to hear the view of the leaders on this one, but i'll take it up elsewhere.

Thanx for your response.

It certainly couldn't hurt. They are going to scratch the itches that bother them most.

"I don't want to start a riot (again)"
I didn't know there had already been one. If so, I missed it.

"can i influence a feature if i don't have time or skil?!"
Sure. There are a couple ways to help:
-One way to help is by reporting bugs and verfiying them.
-another is by improving (or localizing) the wiki.
-another is by Help Other Users.
-another is by suggesting new features & software.
-another way is sponsorship or corporate sponsorship.
-another is by writing articles.

Basically the same items at all open source projects.

This post inspired me to begin: http://wiki.contribs.org/How_to_Participate
It's a good starting point and needs work but I'll clean it up later.

There's no bounty system as this proves to not work very well but ongoing sponsorship is always encouraged.

Thanks and have a great day!
