Manual application of update 1 fails dependencies on 5.1.2
« on: March 13, 2002, 06:22:42 PM »
I'm a very happy (unsupported) user of 5.1.2, and like most people cannot get through to the blades server.

I downloaded the 8 files from:
ftp://ftp.e-smith.org/pub/e-smith/updates/5.1.2/Update1/RPMS/

to my /tmp folder and ran: rpm -Uvh *.rpm
from there.

I got:
error: failed dependencies
libltdl.so.0 is needed by php-4.0.6-7es4
libltdl.so.0 is needed by pspell-0.11.2-2

As am still wearing the Linux L plates I'm a bit stuck - anyone else seen this?  Any thoughts welcomed on how to progress!

Regards to all,  Andy

Sorry all - answered my own question ...

Somewhere along the line libtool-libs-1.3.5-8.i386.rpm had got renamed to libtool-libs-1.3.5-8.i386   :¬(

File renamed and Update 1 manual install worked fine now - and one happy 5.1.2U1 box.

That'll teach me to post before exhausting everything!

Andy,

I have installed the upgrade manually, but when I go to the blade pannel I see that this upgrade is not installed. This is normal?. Then I tray to install from the blade pannel and after I accept the licences, some progress bars apperars, and after 1 or to minutes I press the link to refresh this page and a report appears:

"Fetch package information   100%
Download packages   100%
Check for package conflicts An error occurred - details below
Check for unresolved dependencies Not performed

Fetch package information Completed successfully.
Download packages Completed successfully.

Check for package conflicts There are package conflicts with the SMEServer-5.1.2_Update1 blade
rpm: no packages given for install

Check for unresolved dependencies Not performed.

Someone can give my some help?

Thanks in advance
