(solved) word and excel 2007 saving problem
« on: June 25, 2007, 01:38:07 PM »
I am a newbie.  We have installed MSOffice2007 on two networks with 7.1 servers.  When saving to the local drives there is no problem. When saving to network drives "filename is currently in use. Try again later" and no way around it but to save to a local drive and then copy the file to the server.  Am i doing something wrong or is anyone else seeing this and has an answer?

Most common errors making office complain like this are :

- "illegal' characters in filename
- no rights to write

not sure if it is a bug.  OpLocks are off in smb conf.  Office 2003 has been working fine for some time on both networks.

It is Bitdefender objecting to the way office 2007 saves files.  Just briefly click off the real time scanner (from system tray) while saving and then on again until BD bring out an update for it (they are aware)
