NORAID installation question...
« on: August 17, 2007, 12:15:57 PM »
If I have a PC with a 250GB harddisk (primary master) and a 80GB harddisk (primary slave) and I install SME 7.2 by use of the command line 'sme -noraid', will I get a system with a 'flat' 330GB disk space available without having to issue any further magic spells (eg 'mount', etc) as I don't know Linux at all....

At mo, running SME 7.1.3 on the system with only the single 250GB drive in there but going to start up afresh (after backing up the personal data, of course) with 7.2 and thought about adding the 80GB drive in there too as available disk space filling up rapidly anyway.....

Hi shriddx,

No. You will get the installation on one disk and it will leave the other untouched.

Getting greedy now....
I've also got a couple of spare 40GB drives...
Presumably I can add these too (on the 2nd IDE port) by following the 'AddExtraDrive' instructions and changing the relevant drive references/names to suit?
