Hello,

I'm using SME 7.1.3 with SAIL 2.1.15-483 and my voicemail isn't working, i.e., I never receive the e-mail notification.

I've tried updating serveremail=admin@myco.com in SAIL PBX\Headers\Voicemail.conf, to the correct installed domain and administrator e-mail address (by the way it isn't updating automatically), but it still doesn't work.

Any configuration I have to make or log I should check?

Hi

You should not have to change anything in the Voicemail headers.  You should put the e-mail address in the extension definition.

There are a couple of reasons why you may not be receiving vmail notification.   The first is if the server is behind a firewall which is blocking outbound traffic on the smtp ports.  The second is to do with message length.  SAIL discards all voicemail messages less than 8 seconds in length.  You can change this in voicemail headers if you think it is too long. Often when people test voicemail they leave very short messages - this won't work with vanilla SAIL because they will be dropped.

Hello,

The extensions have the destination e-mail address.
What I assumed is that the serveremail would indicate what would be the sender e-mail address.

There is no firewall blocking the e-mail. If I create an e-mail message in the webmail interface it is delivered inside and outside.

The problem was the lenght of the message.

I would however suggest that the serveremail be updated to the local domain and administrator email, in my eg. postmaster@mycompany.local, so that when the destination receives the e-mail they won't find a strange sender (the default is admin@myco.com).
