Topic: Retaining Files of User to be Removed

I am looking for clarification on what happens if I remove a user. My understanding is that all files that that user had created, whether in their home folder or in group accessible ibays will be deleted.

I have have need to remove some users as they have left the company, but the files they created and were working on must be retained. What is the best way to go about it?

That's not correct.
Ony the files in the users home folder and all email messages & mail folders for the user will be deleted. ie all of
/home/e-smith/files/users/username

Any files created by the user and saved in ibays will be retained.
