Topic: SSMTP on Windows Mobile

Hi All

Managed to successfully upgrade to 7.2 yesterday from an aging 6.01 server. Painless as usual!

I am hoping to use some windows mobile devices to send email through the SME using SSMTP. I have enabled SSMTP on the SME, forwarded and opened port 465 on the firewall and can successfully send email using SSMTP through an Entourage client.

I have exported and installed the SSL certificate from the webmail into the windows mobile device but it does not seem to be able to send email through the SSMTP server on the SME. Has anyone had any experience of getting outgoing email on WM devices working?

WM may be insisting that the name on the cert match the name you are using to access the server. 

I don't know what to do about this, but perhaps browsing to webmail from your WM device will provide a useful error message or explanation.
