Forum Theme Change Feedback

I apologize if I am being rude...

I am not a big fan of the theme change.  I realize the work that goes into maintaining a forum, but I think a bit higher contrast selection, possibly one with a minimum width setting would be a better choice.

This one just does not read like a OS operations/developer forum.  Quite a bit "softer", if you get my drift....

I must agree with MJ, my eyes are already hurting from spending too much hours behind a monitor and this new theme does not really help. It also gives me a bit of looks-like-WinXP aftertaste ;)

User Profiles and User Options

    * Ability to hide your email address from the public.
    * Select their favorite theme among the activated forum themes.
    * Select their smiley set from the ones available.
    * Email notification
          o New topics per board.
          o Single topics.
          o Private messages.
    * Login with 'invisible' mode.
    * Options to hide other members' avatars and signatures.
    * Ability to download and resize uploaded avatars.
    * Personal text, avatar, signature, and all the niceties of forums can be used and are kept up to date in all your posts.
As stated in the list of features of SMF forums, perhaps we could install a few themes on the server and let users choose their favorite. I personally would like some more contrast as well...

Sorry guys, there have been a lot of changes with everything including the forums and the theme had to be put on the back burner for a bit.  Unfortunately it's not as easy as just installing a theme, all the buttons at the top have to be manually added and this theme is the one that is set up correctly with the right buttons.

Some other more pressing items came up that needed attention first and Shad will be getting back to the theme here shortly.  He may also make it possible to chose your theme as soon as he gets a chance to update the buttons on the old theme.

Thanks for the input, just be a little patient.

That's a pity...

That would be nice, perhaps we can already start some kind of vote to make a selection which theme's would be favoured as they probably all need a bit of customization then and I do not think you would want to make every theme available, or would you?

I will be :-)

There are literally hundreds of themes available.  Because each theme needs to be maintained separately due to the buttons, there will most likely be no more than 3 or 4 available.  Each user will then be able to choose the one they want so there won't be any need to vote.

HINT: The current theme was chosen in an attempt to match the colors on the server manager.  While the colors are similar, the use of the colors is very different and didn't produce what was really wanted.

This theme http://custom.simplemachines.org/themes/index.php?lemma=131 looks much better on the eyes and with a bit of color tweaking, may look similar to the server manager in color and appearance.  Anyone out there good at themes could take any theme, modify the colors to emulate the server manager and then present it.  If acceptable, Shad can then update the buttons and include it in the choices.  I am working on the above theme myself.

Remember however, there can only be 3 or 4 themes maintained so make 'em good :-)

Is there a way to improve code text in the forums?
Because it is very small, and with low contrast

May be a light yellow as background, with medium blue text.
