About your issue I think you must investigate at the registry.php file under horde config and compare the function _detect_webroot() with the values you have in your backup.

Also ensure you have expanded all /etc/e-smith/templates/home/* templates and restart httpd.

Yup, that did it .... I changed the registry.php file back to 'webroot' => '/horde', and it appears that all is good again.
