Is it possible to upgrade to php 5.1.2 or later?
« on: October 07, 2008, 09:39:49 AM »
Hi Folks,

Forgive me if this is answered elsewhere. Could only find references to upgrade PHP on older SME versions.

I am trying to install Cerberus Help desk and the wiki article refers to an older version.

Cerberus 4 requires PHP version 5.1.2 or later.

Is it possible to upgrade SM 7.3 to this version? I have looked in the install software menus in server-manager bit that only takes PHP to 4.3.9

Help appreciated.

Rgds

Alex

I've upgraded some servers to the real php5 (not the CGI one) from centosplus, I think it's quite safe now (even if it's not recommended on production servers). All you have to do is:
Code: [Select]
yum --enablerepo=centosplus update phpOf course, you should test it first (on a virtual host for example)
C'est la fin du monde !!!

Moving this topic to the SME 7.x contribs forum, it is more appropriate there. Thanks!
