dns-update shortcut
« on: January 20, 2008, 09:22:34 PM »
I am using SME 7.3 and since about version 7.0 and up. Every once in a while when I try to access a site that I know is up, my web browser returns" Site not Found".
It also appears that all the sites I have the DNS trouble with are on one Web Hosting Server in particular (hostgator.com). I host several domains as a resellor.

However,
If I ssh the SME server and issue command "signal-event dns-update". I can then load the site
My primary desktop is Suse 10.1, and these are the steps I must take now.
1. Open console
2. su / enter password.
3. ssh server / enter password
4. issue comand: signal-event dns-update
I would like to figure out a way to issue the command to the server in 1 click.
Is it possible to write a script that I can execute with a icon on the desktop.

Or if there is a different solution, perhaps you could share your suggestions.
Thanks,
Steve

Please report all malfunctions via the bug tracker. SME server should "just work". If it doesn't, we want to find out why and hopefully fix it. Thanks.
