Topic: Switch from 1dd ide to 2dd+raid card

Hello,
I have a sme 7.2 + contribs installed on a single 80Go dd (noraid nolvm)
I would like to move ALL datas to 2X300Go dd (raid1) on a 3ware raid card on the same pc and remove the single 80Go dd

I have found on the wiki a howto to move data from a computer to another
but how to move datas i my case?

I would like to move All datas (sme+contribs+config+user datas+i-bays...)

One way to deal:
- Backup your server on a USB drive
- Change drives etc.
- Reinstall 7.2 from CD  (if your 3ware raid card is not supported, use software raid native in SME)
- Restore from USB at end of installation
- Reinstall contribs, config files will have been moved across when restoring, so not a big job.

Look at this section of the RAID Howto. The info on Adding is earlier in the same HowTo.

If you use the hardware raid card the 2 drives will appear as one. Personally I ignore the hardware raid and use the software raid built into smeserver. In that case:

• add in the first off your new drives (it will be automagically added into a mirrored raid array with the existing drive)
• let it fully sync
• remove your original drive and make sure that smeserver will start
• increase the size (as per raid howto step 6)
• add in your second drive and it should be automagically added to the mirror and sync'd
