Problems w/ JPG's and Netgear WGR614
« on: September 26, 2007, 02:46:21 PM »
When using a Netgear WGR614 and viewing pics at this site:

http://bt3gallery.fhauto.com/albums/

I get distorted pics on my Internet Explorer.  I have documented what I see by uploading a screen capture at this thread:

http://www.bt3central.com/showthread.php?t=30386

I only mention it here because the site in question (fhauto.com) is using SME Server 7.2, and because I have never, ever seen this phenomenon at any other sites.  I have tried upgrading to the latest firmware on my router, but no dice, still get bad pics.

While I realize that it doesn't happen with other routers, it doesn't happen with other sites, either.  So I'm not ready to say it is a router bug.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Phil

I don't know what distorted pics you might get, but either the source jpgs are distorted or there is something wrong with your browser which is displaying them. Neither SME server nor the Internet links between you and the server does anything to change the content of files.

I tried looking at the pictures too, but as mentioned not publically available.  Had a thought though - perhaps the album fits the pictures into a per determined size - this would stretch pics and cause a distortion.  Are there any options configurable for the album.  A good test of this theory - if the site permissions allows - would be to save the picture - a saved copy of the picture will not be governed by the display settings of the picture tag on the html page.

Good luck!

Here is a copy of the photo.  Sorry, didn't realize you had to join the other form to view the pics.

No, this has definately been narrowed down to only traffic that comes over a WGR614 router.  Doesn't matter what machine I use or which browser (tried IE6 and IE7).  It is absolutely something between SME and WGR614.
