OK, I've done a long search and read every query on this issue and none really seem entirely applicable to my problem.. Just a recap:
I cannot stream using the jukebox. I can fetch the file and play it without issue but streaming results in a failure. I'm using Media Player 6.4 under Windows 2000. The error is: Cannot open. Please verify that the path and filename are correct and try again. (Error=8007000D)
That's the error I get on every streming link. Further, when hovering over a an individual (say, glowing.mp3) stream button I can see the target is glowing.m3u?play=1. Obviously this fails, as there is no such file. Even if I manually create such a file with the name of the mp3 inside it will still fail to find the file, even though I have just created it. Most infuriating.
I've added the appropriate entries for the SME server into hosts and lmhosts. For example: I have named the SME server 'trial' and given it the domain 'router.home'. The server is running in private gateway mode. i.e. it's not serving the world, only the LAN but it IS the WAN gateway and router/firewall.
An nslookup for router.home resolves correctly to the SME server when run from the workstations or from the SME server as root. The WAN connection is a basic PPPoE link and DNS service is auto assigned from the ISP over that link. (Not that I think this is relevant.
Even if I create a .m3u file as per the jukebox instructions I still cannot stream from the server through a browser. However, if I use explorer and connect via samba to the iBay and access the html folder I can execute the .m3u file and it will play flawlessly.
Does anyone ha
