Can someone help me with two issues?
3Com has a nic designed specifically for VPN's - model 3cr990-TX-97, with an integrated processor to handle the vpn enqryption. I want to use it as the external nic in a pair of SME 5.5 production servers operating as VPN gateways.
Does anyone know where I can get a good proven driver for the 3Com 3cr990-tx-97 for use in a SME 5.5 machine? 3Com only has a beta available and I'm a little leery of using it in a production server.
Which brings up my second issue - is there a specific how-to or can anyone give me any guidance on setting up an SME 5.5 in "server only" mode behind an SME 5.5 "server and gateway" with freeswan providing the VPN server functions? Ideally, I want to have two private networks inter-linked via dedicated VPN servers; each private networks' file and print server would sit behind a "vpn gateway" which would provide the internet access in addition to linking the two networks. I would like the users on each network to be able to login and access any file or folder on each server for which they have permissions assigned. I would presume that each user has to be listed as a user on the opposite system, but are there any other pre-requisites for making this work?
