What happened to update thread
«

What has happened to the update thread? I thought it was then to publish information about updates for SME. Since the last post I have had a couple of updates and nothing new has gone into the updates thread, anyone explain why?

That thread is usually used for version updates and not minor package updates.
Also, updates from upstream (eg. CentOS) are not in contribs' control.

So just to clarify, updates that prepend "esmith" or "smeserver" to the update will come within this realm?

Not necessarily. Last week there was a "nut" update that caused a needed update(s) to e-smith-nutUPS.
Ideally there would be a post everytime even a "minor" update came out but that isn't being done currently.

thanks pfloor for you insight and thus my first question still stands as to why nothing is being put in the thread. If it is just for major updates fine, no problem, but this is not made clear.
