Topic: Atached a Maxtor Shared Storage Plus NAS box to SME 7

As a newbie to SME (having run an e-smith 5.5 server for 7 years never having to touch it!) i use a Maxtor Shared Storage Plus NAS box for extra storage on my systems. it works fine for all the MS systems that i use. just map to ip and away you go.
Can anyone tell me how i can attach to the sme server or even just map to it so as to make a backup of the sme server.?
i have tried searching for help within the forum but, nothing points me in the right direction.
What i would like is for the sme box to have it mapped, controlled and shared for all my MS resources.
Any suggestions most welcomed.
