Topic: Problems with new installation

Hello, I have installed 7.1 onto a virtual machine (within XP) and had it running for a few days with no problems.

My new "virgin" machine has arrived today but when I try and load 7.1 the screen says that no hard drives have been detected ?

I have no floppy drive and have tried putting the CD-ROM driver disk in during the installation but it doesn't work - as soon as anaconda starts to run it crashes and tell same to reboot.

Any ideas ?

It sounds as though your hard disk controller is not recognized by the SME 7.1 installer.

You should download and try the SME 7.2 iso and hope that it works.

Thanks for the advice - Got it working by manually pointing at device driver from the list.
