SME Server 7.3 is actually based on CentOS 4.6, what I'm finding strange is you physically only have one Network card installed yet ifconfig is showing bond0 :-?

Thanks for your time as well.

It just occurred to me that since SME is based on an earlier version of CentOS than I have tried (v.5), this can also be a CentOS issue.  I will try installing 4.6 to see if I can replicate the problem.  I might then have more luck identifying the source of the problem.  I will keep you informed -- either here or on the bug tracker -- if I ever get access to it...

Charlie:  Again, I would post to Buzilla if I could.  It looks like a closed system that will not allow a new user to sign up.  If you could kindly assist me in signing up, I'd be happy to bring my post there.

Trying to give something back here...

It's not a closed system but does require you to create a new acount with a login ID based on a valid email address.

http://bugs.contribs.org/

"To create a Bugzilla account, all you need to do is to enter a legitimate e-mail address. You will receive an email at this address to confirm the creation of your account. You will not be able to log in until you receive the email. If it doesn't arrive within a reasonable amount of time, you can contact the maintainer of this Bugzilla installation at staff@lists.contribs.org."

I just tried creating a new account and it works fine:

To confirm the creation of the user account xyz@abc.com.au, use the URL given in the email you will receive. If you take no action in the next 3 days, this request will automatically be canceled.

....and within seconds I received the confirmation email.

Okay, Ray.. you got me -- I'm an idiot.  I don't know how to enter an email address on a web form.  /sarcasm

I am trying REALLY hard not to just give up on this.  You have a lot of good people here and I really do want to help out if I can.  I DID enter my address THREE different times and each time I did, I got the same FORBIDDEN page.  (my email is a Yahoo address, in case that makes a difference)  I am not lying to you, and I am not a completely clueless dimwit.  Partially maybe, but not completely.  I tried using the form and it DIDN'T WORK for me -- for whatever reason.  If you prefer to argue over trivial minutae, that's fine; we can both drop back and pretend this issue never existed.  But keep in mind that I am TRYING to help the project with what appears to be a known bug.  Help me help you.  Or not.  My life will go on either way.

I wasn't name calling, I wasn't arguing and I certainly did not make any other derogatory remarks, so I suggest you remain calm & pleasant.

I just tested the functionality and replied to you that it worked perfectly fine for me, and I used a yahoo.com.au address for that matter, so it does not seem to be an inherent problem with the bugzilla site.

Try accessing the site from a different Internet connection.

Assuming your NIC is an onboard one, as a temporary workaround you could disable it in the bios and install a suported NIC card.
Charlie has hinted at a likely reason for your issue that may or may not be a bug with sme7.3. The sooner it can get to the bug tracker the better for you.

Ray, I have no problem with you, and I appreciate you at least trying here.  But I don't get the condescending tone at all.  Repeating ad nauseum how I should submit to the bug tracker wasn't going to get me there, was it?  I was having a problem getting there, not being stubbornly unwilling to go there.  There's a time to be procedural, and then there's a time to be a little more helpful.  On the other hand, I know how sometimes we can read things in a written forum in ways other than how they're intended, so... meh, no worries... let's just move on.

I'm in now.  My Firefox is having an issue with the site... probably on my end.  IE got it done for a change.  Never even occurred to me that I should try IE.  I so actively avoid that POS that I often forget it's even there.

Now I can continue this discussion where it belongs.  Thank you and everyone else for your guidance!
