Hardware RAID controller
« on: January 23, 2008, 12:05:19 AM »
I have just purchased a dual Opteron server which has RAID controller build into the motherboard (Tyan).

I am about to do a fresh SME install, but before I do, I just want to make sure if there is anything special I need to do before or during install to make sure that SME software RAID does not conflict with hardware RAID.

Software RAID and hardware RAID never conflict. If linux has a driver for a (so-called) hardware RAID controller, then linux will only see one disk drive - the RAID is invisible to linux.
