I know this has been a frequent topic, and sorry for raising it again, but hopefully this will be of use.
I guess I qualify as a newbie, and hence need clear instructions to be able to follow how to do things where I might otherwise be lost - getting e-smith to work with the alcatel modem certainly seems to fit that bill
So, since my install e-smith is currently not vital, I'm willing to mess around with it repeatedly to work with the speedtouch usb modem until I can do it properly, then write a summary of what I did. I'm not going to pretend that I'm qualified to call it a HOWTO......
However, at various points I'm probably going to get errors or problems that I don't quite follow, so is there anyone that's willing to help me at these stages when they arise? I promise to only ask if I can't figure it out even after reading relevant FAQ's, HOWTO's and searching generally for the answer. Oh, and should I do that by mail, or on here?
If no-ones up for it I'm going to try anyway
