Ok. I totally respect the mandate to search and read the forum before posting. I have read all I can find about opening a port in SME 7.1.3 and all others, have tried what was suggested. I've spent hours rereading and fail every time. Obviously, I'm missing something.

I have SME 7.1.3 (plan to upgrade after backup). My backup service Zmanda requires port 10080 to be open to the Inetd service for off server backups. Zmanda (commercial version of Amanda) uses this port for its backups.  I know the port is above the numbers allowed. What do I need to do to open that port? I'm running in server only mode which disables the port forwarding options normally available through server-manager.

How to open port 10080 to a service running on SME?

Is the inetd service running?
