I-bay problem
« on: February 16, 2008, 10:17:13 PM »
I have just created 2 new i-bays on my server (original installed version 7.2,
upgraded to 7.3 and all updates applied).

I have 6 web sites - primary plus 5 i-bays.  Each i-bay relates to a virtual
domain, so I can access them either via internet - e.g. www.domain.com or via
ip address 192.168.1.3/ibayname.

I cannot access the 2 new i-bays by typing in the IP address followed by the
ibay name (it DOES work for existing i-bays).

This is probably the first time I have created a new ibay since SME 5.6 - so
is it a bug or am I just doing something stupid?

Please let me know if more info is required, but my level of technical knowledge
is low!

If I try to access them via their domain names I get the content of the primary site - and yes, I have selected the right i-bay as the content.

Have posted it as a bug - Bug 3940 - but I find it easier to believe that it's a problem on my system (or my stupidity!).

Did you enable web access for those ibays ?
Please read the manual, ibays chapter.

Hello Ray,

Thanks for your reply.  Had already read the manual.  Still looks pretty much the same as it did in earlier versions!

They are configured just the same as my existing i-bays - access - entire internet, no password.

I think that in earlier versions of SME, a newly-created i-bay was locked until a password was entered (even if the i-bay wasn't password-protected).  This wasn't asked now on my 7.3 system.  I have created a password (just in case!).  have also restarted (twice).
