cannot login to server from XP
« on: February 27, 2008, 06:09:39 PM »
Hi !
I just installed SME (7.3) as server only
Created 2 users and 2 information bays, I've set the name/passwords for the users as on two windows xp machines.
But when I try to connect from an xp machine it say the password is wrong, except when I use admin/password, then everything works ???
Is there some obvious thing or hidden trick I have not seen ????

ps. I have tried with "Domain and workgroup controller: ON", currently it is off, but there is no other controller on the network.
b.t.w. all users (user1, user2, admin) got the same password.
before the installation of SME the same machine had an ubuntu-server installation with the same name/ip as SME, guess it makes no difference.

Have you tried logging in to the server manager (  https://yourserverIP/server-manager  )  with your admin username and PW, and in the bar on the left side of the page, click "Users"      Make sure that it doesn't say "account is locked" next to the user name/s that you're trying to access...you have to reset the password to activate the account.
