e-smith with linux

Has anyone investigated/accomplished running the e-smith server as a NIS master/nfs server for a Linux environment.  I am trying to merge our Linux environment and the Windows 2k environment.  The problem that I am having is the directory structures in which e-smith uses for user information.  There are two different "home" directories for each user and they are under /home/e-smith/files/users/$username$/home and /home/e-smith/files/samba/profiles/$username$.  I know that the latter is for the NT profile info and we really don't want the users to be able to mess with the info stored there, but I know that some of the users would like to be able to access the "My Documents" on both the windows 2k and the Linux side of things. Also the first structure of $username$/home has an additional layer before you really get to the user info.

Any suggestions???

Thanks in advance,

I don't think E-smith supports NFS.
From the Linux box you can try to use smbmount to access the E-smith server....
