Limited 3rd party access to Home Drive.
« on: March 18, 2008, 08:56:34 AM »
Hi all,
I am using "Admin Shares" - where one allows a user/s, other than the Domain Admin, access to all home drives, read or write.

My client's need is a bit more complicated - allow read access to several supervisors to some but not all home drives. Has this been done before or is it impossible?

Thanks,
SME Server is a fantastic product - thank you!

ardugh

Use the concept outlined in this Howto.
For your situation create multiple shares with different paths & different allowed users

Thanks, Ray
Already using your howto for it's intended purpose.

The client I'm referring to is a senior school, therefore I would have to create > 500 shares. The task is somewhat daunting, which prompted my question.
