Topic: Dual Internet connections.

It has been a while since I ran SME. So I haven't kept up with the changes. So if my question has been answered before please forgive me. I have searched and not found what I am looking for.

I have 2 independent network providers to provide redundancy and load balancing. I am using a LinkSys RV042 at the moment, with mixed results. It does not load balance worth a dime. But dose an adequate job of fallback.

I saw http://lartc.org/howto/lartc.rpdb.multiple-links.html and http://gentoo-wiki.com/Dual_internet_connections and thought that maybe there is a solution for SME. I loved SME when I had it running. A severe system crash and personal problems prevented me from resurrecting it. If SME is able to do this I am planning on a new installation.

SME does not currently have such a feature. It's something I've done some preliminary research on, and may one day get around to implementing. If anybody wishes to sponsor me to develop the feature they should contact me via email.

This would be a terrific feature for people that rely on the SME server where the ADSL service is not guaranteed.(everywhere!) What kind of sponsorship are you requiring to get this running??
