Installing Sobby (gobby server side)
« on: April 03, 2008, 08:23:26 PM »
Gobby is a first-class, GUI-based text collaboration tool. You can use it, in conjunction with a collaboration server, to work together in real time with an unlimited number of people on any text based file, code or content.

See http://gobby.0x539.de/trac/

I would like to install sobby on SME7 and I would need to get some advice about the required packages.

Is there any of them that should not be installed on SME ?

Provides :
sobby

Requires :
libstdc++.so.6(GLIBCXX_3.4)
libnet6-1.2.so.0
libgobject-2.0.so.0
libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.0)
libstdc++.so.6(GLIBCXX_3.4.6)
libgmp.so.3
libsigc-2.0.so.0
rpmlib(PayloadFilesHavePrefix) <= 4.0-1
libstdc++.so.6(GLIBCXX_3.4.4)
libm.so.6
rpmlib(CompressedFileNames) <= 3.0.4-1
libstdc++.so.6
libgmpxx.so.3
libgcc_s.so.1
libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.1.3)
libglib-2.0.so.0
libgcc_s.so.1(GCC_3.0)
libobby-0.3.so.0
libglibmm-2.4.so.1
libstdc++.so.6(CXXABI_1.3)
libc.so.6

Thanks for any help!

The easiest install would be 'yum install sobby' and let yum resolve the dependencies.

However you will need an EL4 type rpm package.

Looking at http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3?stat=3&search=sobby there are plenty of sobby packages but no EL4 variant.

There are EL5 variants that would install on the upcoming SME8 release.

So it seems you are out of luck for the easy install  :-(
