I suggest that you start by reading the documentation - more than once. See "Manual" and "FAQ" links on this page.

when it askd me to enter the Domain Name.
Is this what you would like your domain to be or do you have to register with a domain or get a domain name. surely the server dose not setup your domain. so if i make my domain: HOME.com then if i go www.home.com it will go to my server. also do you know of any free domain host or what ever i need to set up my domain.

also

it says
Operation Mode
After configuring your SME Server for your local network, you will see the following screen. This is where you select your server's operation mode.

im not sure which option to choose 1,2 or 3

i have iburst modem connected to a router that provides the network with internet access (PPPoE), i want my server to be a email server, proxy server and a firewall, i may one day want to host a website but not at this time.

which option do i chose?

Thanks

If you want your server to be the router and Firewall for your network you need
Server-gateway

If you want your server to be only a server select
Server-only

Either one can host websites and e-mail as long as the correct ports are forwarded through the router.

Read this from front to back at least three times:

If you plan on using this it is the best time investment you can make.

Your question is unclear,

DNS means Domain Name System. If you are asking about the configuration screens that has the title Corporate DNS server address, do what the screen says and leave it blank.

If you are asking how to obtain your own internet domain name, go to Godaddy.com and look at the process for registering a domain. Or google "domain registration" and read some more .

The information you need is also in the manual link above, Here is the appendix you need:

Alternatively go to dyndns.com and register a free domain name.
Also yi.org and others do exist.
Please search before asking, an answer may already exist.
The Search & other links to useful information are at top of Forum.
