Hello,

Installing SME again after some years of absence I have run into the following :

My LAN is on 192.168.1.x ( x=1 is livebox modem France telecom 2<x>10 local machines)
Installing SME on 192.168.1.11 or on 192.168.1.2 would not result in a correct connection test to internet during setup of the sme.
I finally installed SME on 192.168.0.1 and connection is OK.

It all seems OK except for the locally hosted domain (midi-market.com) which in unreachable from the web.
I have set up a professional account with dyndns.com because I cannot (yet) have a fix IP from my ISP.
What am I doing wrong?
All advice appreciated!

Hi

Are you installing your server as "server-only" or "server-gateway" mode ?
Your modem IP is 192.168.1.1 , so this should be your default gateway to connect internet.
If your setup is server-gateway, and 192.168.0.1 is your LAN address, so it seems correct. Otherwise.... I just cannot understand your setup.

How your server + local machines are connected? Using a hub/switch I presume. So you should have this setup:

Internet--------- ADSL modem --------------- SME SERVER (server-gateway mode) ----------------- SWITCH --------------- Local machines
                  valid IP             192.168.1.1       192.168.1.154                       192.168.0.1                                                    192.168.0.X (x>10)

To have yuor site visible from internet, you must forward port 80 from ADSL modem to SME Server.

Ask if you need more help: I can be reached at gmail as jader.marasca (and we can use chat in gtalk). I´m in Brasil (GMT-0300)

Good luck
