Before all this trouble I tried to install Dansguardian, but it work find like a week. Then after a weekend all my users started to report they couldn't send or receive emails. Later I discovered that it was the Clamav, I search the web and find out that the problem comes with one of the SME updates. therefore I tried the steps showed in the contribs forums (which I can't find now) to solve it, but it didn't work. So I disable the Clamav and the emails stared to work. I had other things to do at work so I couldn't go on with the problem until now. Hope this helps.
No unfortunately it does not help as I have no idea what steps you have undertaken. In your first post you state you reinstalled clamav, you fail to answer the questions asked in my post and in your latest post you state you installed dansguardian and did something else mentioned in the forums, but are unable to state what you did or even give a global picture.
It does me, nor any other I think, any clues to go from. You should try to be as clear and precise as possible and give all details not only ones you assume relevant.
Once again, where did you install clamav from after you first removed it?
Then did you already try and remove dansguardian? What makes you assume it was a clamav related issue?
