SPA3102/2102 and caller ID
« on: June 30, 2008, 11:02:15 AM »
Hi,

I tested Linksys SPA3102 and SPA2102, it's working fine (after adapting them to French standards !). But I have no caller ID (number or name) displayed on the connected phones. Is there a way to have it working ?

I'm in France and I tested with LOGICOM Yzea 400, but I suppose that the phone has no importance.

Thanks.

Re CLID

There probably is a way to get it working but I don't know it.  Callerid standards vary from country to country and I don't know how France Telecom delivers CLID.  I suspect you will find the answer on one of the French Asterisk or Linksys Forums/Bulletin Boards.

Sorrry I can't help further.

Kind Regards

Hi,

Finally, I had it working... But strangely, the settings are not corresponding to the french standards, so I'm still looking for a better solution.

For those who are interested, I opened a topic on asterisk-france forums. I gave the settings I'm using for now to have it working.

best regards.

Could you summarize here your findings?
I'm looking for a solution for that problem too.
Thanks!

Hi, sophie,

It was a long time !

Well, I think that there is a lot of things to know and understand to setup correctly SPA3102/2102. I didn't discover all yet ! And regarding the caller ID, what I found is available for France, not sure for some other countries in Europe and probably not in Canada...

But you're right : I have to share it ! Just give me some time to make a document about all that. I'll try to do it for the next days.

About caller ID, you have to set :
- The ring cadences
- The FXS port impedance
- The caller ID method
- The caller ID FSK standard

They are all in the Voice/Regional page. You have to put them accordingly to the standards in use in your country (or by your phone company : I saw that in some country different companies have different standards).

In some cases, the ring tones can have some influence, but generally if they are important they have also others effects.

For the ring cadences, the syntax is described here.

I'll post here as soon as my howto is ready.
